Coronavirus Risk Assessment and Protection

This statement has been formulated as a result of Customer interest and our research and risk mitigation work in relation to the coronavirus outbreak and is issued for Customer general information only.

This document sets out HUB Electronics view of the risks attached to spread of coronavirus and actions issued to help prevent the spread of the disease

Actions based on internal Audit findings;

A) Visitors and staff are required to wash their hands upon entry to the building.

B) Supplier / customer visits to the office have now been postponed until further notice 15/03 or held off site to protect staff. We have hired a stand alone office as a contingency.

C) All suppliers are required (via PO sub notes) to advise in writing of potential supply issues or delivery changes as soon as practical in order for us to notify our Customers. Quotations are provided on latest available information in regards to supply and will be re-checked upon order placement and acknowledged/re-acknowledged as necessary if conditions change.

D) Alternative supply routes are readied for most standard parts, non -standard parts will be reviewed and alternatives offered and/or re-manufactured by existing pre-approved factories / sub-contractors.

E) Staff are readied for remote / split shift & segregated working arrangements that will be enabled from Monday 23rd March that enable key business activities to continue, namely sales, processing, contract manufacturing, goods in/out & accounts and reviewed on a daily basis until further notice by management dictate.

Potential perceived ongoing impact assessment:

Management have concluded that in the current environment and adhering to Government advise given to help stem the Spread of the Coronavirus (Covid 19), the supply from major worldwide manufactures may be impacted especially in the short to medium term until the situation becomes more normalised at which point, we would expect supply routes to return to more normal.

In the short to medium term we would expect most major manufactures to be impacted in some way which could affect delivery lead times and/or supply of some finished component. We are mitigating these circumstances as much as possible by increasing our stockholding of key comments and running stock according to supply history together with supplier stock buffer agreements with suppliers.

All current supplier and courier routes are operating normally but we are assessing on a daily basis by direct factory contact (where necessary) to establish ‘current’ supply conditions and to review stock buffers etc.

We will continually assess the supply situation for both the Coronavirus and post Brexit import/export changes as necessary to our supply chain and routes according to the latest advice and provide feedback to our customers at quotation or order acknowledgment/re-acknowledgement

Customer action:

We will be requesting all customers advise us of any key components/assemblies that may cause them production problems and we will do our utmost to advise accordingly based on the latest supply information we have

Conclusions

Management have concluded that HUB have planned and commenced forward provision as much as possible and have adequate checks and reviews in place. HUB is also working closely with preferred supplier base to ensure continuity of supply based on current envisaged scenarios (namely products, Service provision & courier services) at this stage.

In the event of further Government and/or supply information being provided this policy will be amended and re-issued.

Policy Amendments:

This statement may be updated as applicable and re-posted by email and website under policies & statements and should be checked for revision by Customers regularly.
